BIMTECH – Tekla Structures
Bolts in Tekla.
1)     Single Bolt
In this example, we’ll add two single bolts at highlighted positions,
In order to do so, we’ll have to add points as references to define the positions of bolts
Add the points using Construction References under Modelling Menu.

After defining the points, we’ll have to define the properties of bolts. To do so follow the steps:
1)      Go to Detailing->Properties->Bolts
2)      Please make sure, In Bolt properties, the following settings are enabled, ensure that Bolt dist (x and y) are set to 0 & Shape is set to Array
3)      Click Modify, Apply & OK to save the changes
Now that bolt properties are set. The last step is to add bolts to the model, follow the steps to do so:
1)      Return to our Model, Go to Detailing->Bolts->Create Bolts
2)      Now Pick a Part to Bolt to (Main Part), In our case, it’s concrete Beam
3)      Now Pick a Part to be bolted (secondary part), In our case it’s Steel Contour Plate.
4)      Now Middle Mouse Click to confirm selection, Now’s it’s time to pick position, Pick First Position for Bolt Origin and second position to define X Axis for Bolt.
5)      Whoa! Bolt Added! Now you can try for the other one.

2)    Bolt Groups
Creating of bolt groups are same as creation of single bolts except that under Bolts Properties, the following settings are enabled. See the screenshot below.

As you can see, Shape is set to Array only, but Bolt Dist X is set 0.00 2*300.00 that means 3 bolts are set at the distance of 300mm and Bolt Dist Y is set to 200mm that means in Y Axis direction, the gap between bolts will be 200mm

After setting the properties, addition of bolts to model procedure is the same.
Go to Detailing->Bolts->Create Bolts
Now Pick a Main Part
Then Select Secondary Part
Then Press Middle Mouse Button
Pick First Position and then Second Position, Bolts Group shall now be created
