Attaching Parts, Detaching Parts and Exploding Attached Parts

Attaching Parts.

Tekla provides us the ability to attach parts to a part without they being close to one another. The attached parts are taken into account when calculating area, volume of the parts.

When Attaching, Detaching or Exploding Parts,
Ensure that the Cuts & Added Material Option is enabled in Display under View Properties.

To Attach a part:
1. Click Detailing --> Added Material --> Attach to Part .
2. Select the part to attach to.
3. Select the part you want to attach.
You can attach more than one part at a time. The parts that are attached do not need to
touch the part to which they are attached.

4. Click the middle mouse button to attach the part.

To Detach a part:
1. Click Detailing --> Added Material --> Detach from Part .
2. Select the attached part you want to detach.
You can detach more than one part from several different parts at a time. Select the
parts either by clicking them or by using area selection.
